Tour's Location

Do I need visas for Peru and Bolivia?

Visa requirements depend on your nationality. Most travelers from North America and Europe do not need a visa for Peru but may require one for Bolivia. It’s essential to check current visa requirements with the Bolivian consulate or embassy well in advance of your trip.

How should I prepare for altitude sickness?

High-altitude locations such as Cusco, La Paz, and Rainbow Mountain can pose risks of altitude sickness. To mitigate symptoms, consider arriving a few days early to acclimatize, stay hydrated, eat light meals, avoid alcohol, and speak to your doctor about altitude sickness medications.

What type of clothing should I pack?

The weather can vary significantly, so packing layers is essential. Include warm clothing for cold nights in high-altitude areas, comfortable walking shoes, rain gear, and sun protection (hat, sunscreen, sunglasses).

What cultural etiquette should I be aware of?

Respect local customs and traditions. In both Peru and Bolivia, it’s polite to ask for permission before taking photos of people, especially in indigenous communities. Be aware of and sensitive to environmental and historical preservation efforts, especially at sites like Machu Picchu and Tiwanaku.
