Visa requirements for Peru depend on your nationality. Many countries, including the United States, Canada, and most European nations, do not require a visa for tourist stays of up to 183 days. Please check with the nearest Peruvian consulate or embassy for the most current visa information.

Is altitude sickness a concern in Cusco and Machu Picchu?

Altitude sickness can be a concern as Cusco is located at about 3,400 meters (11,200 feet) above sea level. Acclimatizing to the altitude, staying hydrated, eating light meals, and possibly taking altitude sickness medication can help. Machu Picchu is at a lower elevation (around 2,430 meters or 7,970 feet), where fewer travelers experience altitude problems.

How physically demanding is the tour?

The tour involves walking, often on uneven surfaces and inclines, especially at archaeological sites like Machu Picchu and Ollantaytambo. Travelers should be in reasonable physical condition, although extensive hiking experience is not necessary for this tour.

What should I pack for the tour?

Pack comfortable clothing suitable for varying temperatures, as weather can change quickly, especially in the Andes. Include layers, rain gear, sturdy walking shoes, sun protection, a daypack, and any personal medication. Don't forget your camera and chargers.
